A modern approach to the treatment of postcovid syndrome
One of the methods used is the application of a high-power laser, which is commonly used in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. It is now also used as part of the care of people with persistent difficulties after a cavid, particularly to promote the regeneration of lung tissue and improve respiratory function.
The therapy is non-invasive and is performed on an outpatient basis. Treatment of a single lung takes approximately a few minutes and is usually performed in a series of several consecutive applications to promote a regenerative effect. Experience in practice shows that some patients experience an improvement in subjective sensation, a reduction in breathlessness and an improvement in the results of pulmonary function tests.
Laser therapy is usually part of a broader rehabilitation programme. This includes targeted respiratory physiotherapy, training in correct breathing patterns, fitness support and individually tailored physical activities. A comprehensive approach allows a better response to the different manifestations of post-covid syndrome and tailors care to the specific needs of the patient.
